Vegas Part 1!
Vegas 2009 was amazing! Here's some of the highlights!
We stayed at Bally's for 2 nights, then on to the Las Vegas Hilton followed by our last night at Excalibur on the strip! In hindsight, it was a lot of moving around, packing up bags and cabs but FUN!
Thursday March 19th - Day before our trip, we had a huge list of last minute things to do! I had my nails done, finished packing, did groceries and then a run to shoppers drug mart for sinutab since I still had a cold. Went to bed about 1am *yawn* Are you kidding, I couldn't sleep - I was going away with my husband and we haven't been alone since Kevin was born 9 years ago!
Friday March 20th - Woke up at 5am and lugged everything downstairs and into our friends van! Kyle drove fast so we were there by 6am, checking in at Pearson! Customs and security was super fast and then we headed to Tim Hortons to get our wake-up! We relaxed and waited to board - my husband was super excited (and a little nervous) because he's never been on a plane. Before we knew it we were on-board and on our way to VEGAS!!
We arrived there at 10:30am - to wonderful 27 degree weather!! There was no line for a taxi and we were at Bally's minutes later!! However, this was a huge NCAA weekend, so our room wasn't ready - so we had to check our bags and walk the strip for a bit! We decided to have lunch and then went to Bills for their $1 margaritas - a little too strong for Gary's style so I drank both *hiccup* By then it was 1pm, we decided to go try our luck checking in - our room was ready, after a quick shower we decided to have a nap, we were both exhausted! We woke up about 5pm and went in search of more food and some liquor to bring back to our room!
We had some drinks together in the room (see a theme, we had plenty to drink this week! Even if I don't say "we had a drink" we probably DID!) and then headed over to Planet Hollywood where we were meeting a friend of mine for drinks @ Fat Tuesday's. We were a bit early so we walked around Miracle Mile checking out the stores before getting our drink on!! After that we headed back to Bally's since our friends would soon be arriving from Toronto, we had to make sure the beer was properly chilled!!
Once they got in, we (had some drinks) and headed back out to the strip in search of more food (Burger King)and gambling! We walked up towards Harrah's popping in all the casinos along the way - checked out Carnival Court and the huge lineup and then walked back down. By then it was 2am, 5am Toronto time so we headed to bed!!
Up next - day 2 & 3, our big move to the Hilton!
