Insomnia...

Why is it, on the eve of Ryan's birthday - and of the day I will have around 14 kids running around my house, I'm wide awake at 1am? Oh right, that's because I fell asleep at 4pm for a brief catnap, only to wake up at 7:30pm I've actually been trying to have one nap a day if Gary's home, guess I need to take them a lot earlier than almost dinner time. Of course, since the clocks go back tonight, Ryan, the birthday boy will be awake at the ripe hour of 5:45am! I'm sure to be a walking zombie tomorrow, fitting with the day I guess. I've been feeling quite a bit of baby 'flutters' this week, and can't wait until the movements are enough to feel them on the outside, Gary and the boys are waiting eagerly. We see my backup midwife on Friday morning. Probably just the same old, pee on a stick, listen to beans heartbeat and then check my blood pressure a few times. I'll also get my requisition form for my Ultrasound which is booked for November 26th ...

Names

Not long after we found out Kevin and Ryan were boys, they were named. Kevin Alexander James is named after my grandpa, whose middle name is also Alexander, and James is after Gary's grandfather who passed away before he could meet our boys. Ryan Andrew Kenneth, is only named after one person, and that's my uncle Kenny - Andrew is what I would have liked to name him. And now comes the third child dilemma. I used up all the names I like, so here's a list Gary and I have made... Jordan Dylan Mason Nathan The only one I really love is Dylan, but others might grow on me, the boys of course, still pick Norman, lol.

Second trimester energy burst...

For the last 10 weeks or so, it's all I can do to get out of bed in the morning and get Kevin off to school. Waiting for Gary to get home from work, and then would run for as long as a nap as possible. Between consuming everything in sight, and sleeping the day away - nothing was getting done around here. Finally, since last week - my energy has returned and I'm getting stuff done. Laundry has been washed, folded AND put away on the day it's done, instead of a week later. Dinner has been more than something out of a can and heated up, and the kids are in bed at a decent hour - in their OWN beds. Now comes the plan of how the rooms are going to be re-organzied and where new baby "Norman" as the boys call him is going to sleep. Somehow, Kevin's come up with the idea he can get bunk beds, and Norman can sleep on the bottom. Ryan says he can share his toddler bed, I think, and Gary agrees that he'd be much happier in a bassinet beside our bed or tucked away sa...

Felt some bubbles

Or could it have been movement? Not sure, I've been checking online and 13.2 weeks a wee bit early to be feeling anything at all. Other than that, I am feeling pretty good. I was tired for quite a few weeks there - but my energy seems to be coming back. We're discussing names - both Kevin and Ryan were named early on. Dylan seems to be the only name we agree on, I also like Jordan, Hayden and Logan. Gary likes Nathan and Mason. We still have 27 weeks or so to discuss it. I'm also stuck on middle names, both boys were named after family - we'll have to come up with something similar this time too!

Had my 12 week Ultrasound

I had my U/S today to check the baby, do the IPS screen and just make sure everything was going okay. The tech was amazing - she gave me some pics and assured me (she's not supposed to give out any results) that the baby didn't have any marker for downs and that growth was right on for my dates. I also had a TON of blood taken, to do all routine tests, and have my iron checked. Midwife put me on calcium supplements because of my lactose intolerance, I'm not drinking much milk.

Second Midwife Appintment today...

She left not too long ago - she was here for an hour. We did all the paperwork, got the forms for my U/S and bloodwork next week, talked about birth plans a bit and just chatted in general about how I'm feeling. I also signed some consent forms so she can obtain my pre-natal records from my OB and hospital records for my births - I'm SO eager to see them, as normally paitents aren't able to see them, but with my midwife, I get a copy of everything! *grin* When she checked my blood pressure and it was a little elevated, so we waited and tried again at the end of the app't when it was back down to normal. We checked my tummy out, and even heard the it was at about 149, so I'm thinking boy. I have my IPS screen on Tuesday, along with some bloodwork and then my 'big' U/S at the beginning of December. So that's it! Pretty uneventful, but I guess that's a good sign! We see her again in 4 weeks
