Bathtime!!!

Happy Victoria Day!!

Tonight we took Dylan to the park to see fireworks for the first time. He fell asleep about 5 minutes after getting there and didn't stir for any loud booms or the kids screams! The boys were so excited to "help him to not be scared" but he didn't need any reassurance from his big brothers as he wasn't interested at all, lol. He's still doing great, sleeping well and having much more awake time during the day! He loves when the boys pay attention to him - I bet he can't wait to get his hands on their toys!! He's outgrown almost all his newborn clothing, he's just too long for most outfits - I'm hoping for summer to come soon as most of his summer clothes he'll be outgrowing soon too, lol.

Dylan's One Month Old!!!

We saw the midwife, Carolynn today - she gave us both a clean bill of health. We tried to do his hearing screen today, but Dylan just wouldn't sit still or stop making squeaking noises while smiling at Carolynn - we'll have to try again in two weeks. We also had him weighed, two weeks ago, he was 6 pounds 15 ounces - and average babies gain 1/2 a pound per week - so my guess was he would weigh in at 7 pounds 14 ounces. I was off by a bit, he now weighs 8 Pounds 13 Ounces He's been out of newborn diapers for a week, and now I know why!!! He's finally starting to enjoy baths and continues to be a super sleeper, even putting himself to sleep without any help! Of course, Mommy loves to rock him - but at least he can sooth himself when he needs to! He's eating great - getting breastmilk both from the source and pumped into bottles plus some formula, eating every 2-3 hours.

First Smiles!

Dylan had his first smiles today, not only seen by Daddy and myself, but also Uncle Scott. I'll try and snap a pic over the next few days to show off! He's going through a growth spurt right now, eating more at feedings and sleeping even more, if that's possible, lol. The weather has finally warmed up, and Dylan is loving walks in the stroller and being outside. He loves to be sitting up looking around and hates to be cradled like a baby unless he's eating or very sleepy. The boys are his favourite source of entertainment - he loves watching them play and interact with him. He also adores the TV, trying to watch it whenever he can!

Can you tell the difference???

Just sharing a couple of photos - of the first two, one is Kevin at six weekss, the other Dylan at 3 weeks, can you tell the difference???

17 Day Midwife Checkup

Dylan and I had a visit with Carolynn today at the clinic. They finally have it up and running, and it looks amazing inside - the boys LOVED playing with all the cool toys and Mommy loved looking at all the neat Ikea furniture they have furnished the clinic with :) Dylan is doing great! He wasn't impressed with being undressed for his checkup, but then again he doesn't like being nekkid much! He now weighs 6 pounds, 15 ounces Carolynn assures me that's a GREAT gain and he's thriving :) We go back in two weeks, when he'll be a whole month old - how time flies huh?? He's been an absolute angel the last few days, loves his swing a lot more than he did last week, and I've caught him craning his neck to try and watch TV when music videos are on. As long as we keep the Teletubbies away I think were okay *grin* He loves going for drives in the car, again probably the music and vibration he gets from the bumps - but it's nice not to have a screaming baby like R...

This is it for pics for a while - you can see the rest in his album, link is above!

Two Weeks Old!!

Hard to believe he's two weeks old already, how time flies! Dylan continues to be a little angel, only fussy when hungry and loves to watch his brothers. He adores the bouncer chair but isn't too interested in the swing yet. We see Dr.Newman for breastfeeding support on Wednesday and we see Carolynn on Thursday for his well baby check-up and will update his growth progress then. He sleeps GREAT at night, only waking to eat and then back to sleep - I try not to change him unless he's poopy or soaking wet, which doesn't happen often. He actually smiled at me this morning - I'm sure it was on purpose, many people claim it was "gas" but he really was grinning at Mom! It's really like he's been here forever. The boys adore him, always asking to hold him - asking to help out and talk to him while he's fussy. We've had lots of friends by to visit, and they are amazed at how laid back he is!!
