I'm so excited! Our 18 week ultrasound is on Friday morning. I can't wait to see the bean, and also confirm the sex! Gary's a little worried it might be a girl, since a few of my fellow pregnant Momma's found out they have girls, when a few weeks ago the U/S showed a possible boy ;) I'm sure he'll be just as thrilled with a healthy girl - it will just take some getting used to (and he says he'll be buying a gun, lol) I've been feeling lots of kicks, and movements - especially at bedtime - Gary's still waiting to feel it from the outside, but everytime he takes a feel, the baby stops moving, lol. We just went out and bought a breast pump, baby tub and a new battery operated swing - now I'm going out to buy some rechargable batteries. I just really need the functional baby stuff now like diapers and wipes, lotions and baby wash - after Christmas we'll get busy painting the nursery and getting the stuff all moved in from the garage so Gary can s...

She said based on the blood tests alone the baby has a 1 in 7000 chance of having spina bifida, and a 1 in 900 chance of having down syndrome, which she said are excellent results!! She said she's glad they don't base it all just on the Ultrasound - and there's some concrete bloodwork to go with it. I do have another U/S next Friday to double check some measurements - we're going to discuss moving up my due date if he's still measuring way ahead - I'm just so glad everything is okay, I can sleep better now. I can't believe I'm already 17 weeks! Time is just flying - we're starting to plan out the nursery, just have to get everything cleaned out and then paint, it's going to be a yellow colour, very pretty called Dandylions for Roo by Disney!

We met our backup midwife Allisoun today. She came today for a visit and was here about 45 minutes - baby looks good, growing well, and everything with me looks great too! My Ultrasound is scheduled for November 26th at 9:30am - it's just the routine 18 week check, and will double check some measurements on the baby, as well as confirm (or change!) the baby's sex! I see Carloynn, my primary midwife on December 5th - by then I'll be 20 weeks - halfway there!!!
