39 Weeks and our visit to the hospital
So I made it to 39 weeks - this was the day in my last pregnancy that Dylan was born, alas, I'm still pregnant.
Carolynn & Terri (student midwife) came to visit yesterday at home. We talked about how I feel less movement in baby - I'm guessing because she's turned OA and her legs and hands are in my back now. I told them on occasion I see those little floater fishy things in my eyes, but they quickly go away when I eat or drink something - thought it was low blood sugar because it happens mostly in the morning when I've been sleeping all night. There was a trace of protein in my urine and when we checked my blood pressure - it was very high, something like 160/90 - they left with a promise I'd come in today to the clinic and have it checked again this morning. We decided to check and see how dilated I was, because I've been having lots of contractions, nothing regular, just lots of them and I was wondering how things were "moving along" I'm 3cms (have to get to 10!) and 30% effaced (have to get to 100%) We checked my blood pressure again and it was down a little, but still high :(
After they left, they chatted more and decided it would be best if I went in to the hospital and had a non-stress test done on the baby. Went there for 7:30p last night, got hooked up, had bloodwork done and blood pressure checked. At first I was at 160/95 and after many checks and 1.5 hours it went down to 155/88 which is still high when "normal" for me is 120/80. I got to have a consult with the OB who said "give it a day or two, if it doesn't resolve, we induce" Bloodwork was completely normal, which I think gave me my ticket home!
So I was back in the clinic this morning and my BP was normal - 120/70 but still was sent for a BPP Ultrasound this afternoon where babygirl scored 8/8 on her movement, heart rate and fluids. I go back again on Friday for another BPP and my midwife or the student will drop by daily just to do a quick BP check and listen to baby. If I get any more symptoms of PIH, I'll be induced - so hoping to get her out by the weekend.
I've been drinking the red raspberry leaf tea, and it's causing some great contractions I just need to step up the walking around here.
Soooo we just wait, I got a GREAT look at her face today - she looks just like Dylan and had her hands up over her face - adorable!!! I took what is hopefully my last belly photo tonight (actually, the boys took them!) and will post tomorrow!
