31 Week Midwife Appointment

Happy Valentines Day!!!

I saw Allisoun this morning for my 31 week check-up. Things look good, blood pressure is fine, and the trace in my urine is still present but hasn't gotten worse so it's okay. Baby's measuring right on at 31 weeks, and his heartrate is in the mid-140's he's still head down, and body is to the left, makes my belly feel a little lobsided. I found out I should have pre-registered at the hospital by 24 weeks, so I have to call and get myself in there, whoops. It's not a huge deal, just means when I am in labor, Gary won't have to leave me to go fill out a million forms about my health history and our insurance information.

We had a nice lunch out today since Gary is on afternoons, I was loving the variety of foods (Italian buffet!) and all the fresh fruit I could eat - Ryan was happy with his ceasar salad, canteloupe and watermelon.

I've been trying to find a nice border/stick -up set for the baby's room, so far haven't seen anything that I like, but I'm getting desperate to do something in there, you can only fold clothes so many times, lol. I don't want to wash them all yet... since they'll probably get dusty and I'll have to re-wash them, but I did soak all the stained ones and they look pretty good! Some of Ryan's baby stuff still has that newborn smell, yummmmm.

Another Midwife Visit

I think she should just move in, she's here enough! LOL Everything is great, baby is still doing great and has dropped, I'm now measuring a week behind which means he's ready to go! Blood pressure, heart rate and urine are all perfect and I sent my GBS ( http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/1647.html ) swab off for testing. I didn't have GBS with either of the boys, but back then they didn't test for it anyways. If I test positive, just means I'll recieve antibiotics in labour, not a huge deal, but better to know ahead of time. So now we're just waiting for him to arrive - everything but MY bag is packed and ready to go! We spent the last week around here battling the sickies, and Gary's back to work tonight after being off for two weeks, which was very nice!! The Arrival Of Dylan

I'll start off by saying, I got the natural birth I had planned on all along!! I was so sure I'd go overdue and end up being induced - I guess I scared him out of me!! Towards the end, it became quite rushed ;) I'd been having regular bouts of contractions for weeks now, so Monday didn't start out any different. I began my morning with my Red Raspberry Leaf tea and then we went shopping at Walmart in the morning, getting the boys sand toys that I had been promising them for weeks and then to McD's for breakfast. We got home, had two more cups of tea and then did some cleaning. Around lunch, I realized these contractions were not only getting more regular, but were beginning to move down into my back - so I timed them and they were about 7-10 minutes apart lasting 30 seconds or so, not painful at all - very early labour.
