28 Week Appointment

We saw Carolynn this afternoon for my 28 week check-up. Baby's heart rate is great, and I'm measuring right at 28 weeks and he's head down - yay! Ryan got to help check my blood pressure and listened to the heartbeat too! We talked a little about birth plans and early labor ideas. She's actually on vacation from mid-March until April 14th, but said she'll come when I go into labor - my backup will probably be the one who is with me throughout the labor, but Carolynn will come in for his delivery, which I think is awesome!
There was a trace of protein in my urine, which is where my PIH problems started with Ryan. I see Allisoun in two weeks, and then depending on how things go, might see them weekly from there on in!
I found out that I can labor in the tub at the hospital, but not deliver in there due to "legalities" also found out that Gary can be the one pulling the baby out and placing him on me - how neat will that be!?!

Another Midwife Visit

I think she should just move in, she's here enough! LOL Everything is great, baby is still doing great and has dropped, I'm now measuring a week behind which means he's ready to go! Blood pressure, heart rate and urine are all perfect and I sent my GBS ( http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/1647.html ) swab off for testing. I didn't have GBS with either of the boys, but back then they didn't test for it anyways. If I test positive, just means I'll recieve antibiotics in labour, not a huge deal, but better to know ahead of time. So now we're just waiting for him to arrive - everything but MY bag is packed and ready to go! We spent the last week around here battling the sickies, and Gary's back to work tonight after being off for two weeks, which was very nice!! The Arrival Of Dylan

I'll start off by saying, I got the natural birth I had planned on all along!! I was so sure I'd go overdue and end up being induced - I guess I scared him out of me!! Towards the end, it became quite rushed ;) I'd been having regular bouts of contractions for weeks now, so Monday didn't start out any different. I began my morning with my Red Raspberry Leaf tea and then we went shopping at Walmart in the morning, getting the boys sand toys that I had been promising them for weeks and then to McD's for breakfast. We got home, had two more cups of tea and then did some cleaning. Around lunch, I realized these contractions were not only getting more regular, but were beginning to move down into my back - so I timed them and they were about 7-10 minutes apart lasting 30 seconds or so, not painful at all - very early labour.
