My midwfe just called with my IPS results

She said based on the blood tests alone the baby has a 1 in 7000 chance of having spina bifida, and a 1 in 900 chance of having down syndrome, which she said are excellent results!!

She said she's glad they don't base it all just on the Ultrasound - and there's some concrete bloodwork to go with it. I do have another U/S next Friday to double check some measurements - we're going to discuss moving up my due date if he's still measuring way ahead - I'm just so glad everything is okay, I can sleep better now.

I can't believe I'm already 17 weeks! Time is just flying - we're starting to plan out the nursery, just have to get everything cleaned out and then paint, it's going to be a yellow colour, very pretty called Dandylions for Roo by Disney!

Another Midwife Visit

I think she should just move in, she's here enough! LOL Everything is great, baby is still doing great and has dropped, I'm now measuring a week behind which means he's ready to go! Blood pressure, heart rate and urine are all perfect and I sent my GBS ( http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/1647.html ) swab off for testing. I didn't have GBS with either of the boys, but back then they didn't test for it anyways. If I test positive, just means I'll recieve antibiotics in labour, not a huge deal, but better to know ahead of time. So now we're just waiting for him to arrive - everything but MY bag is packed and ready to go! We spent the last week around here battling the sickies, and Gary's back to work tonight after being off for two weeks, which was very nice!! The Arrival Of Dylan

I'll start off by saying, I got the natural birth I had planned on all along!! I was so sure I'd go overdue and end up being induced - I guess I scared him out of me!! Towards the end, it became quite rushed ;) I'd been having regular bouts of contractions for weeks now, so Monday didn't start out any different. I began my morning with my Red Raspberry Leaf tea and then we went shopping at Walmart in the morning, getting the boys sand toys that I had been promising them for weeks and then to McD's for breakfast. We got home, had two more cups of tea and then did some cleaning. Around lunch, I realized these contractions were not only getting more regular, but were beginning to move down into my back - so I timed them and they were about 7-10 minutes apart lasting 30 seconds or so, not painful at all - very early labour.
