Las Vegas 2011!

We had another wonderful week in Las Vegas!! This year was a lot more work focused but we had a great time!!

Thursday March 3 - Hubby went to drop off the kiddos at my Mom/Step-Dad's house where they would stay until Sunday when his Mom picked them up. I think the whole arrangement went off without a hitch. I finished packing, then headed to bed to get some sleep. About midnight he arrived home with his Mom, who was taking our van for the week and his friends who were driving us to the airport at 4am. The four of them stayed up, I went back to sleep!

Friday March 4th - Got up at 4am, grabbed gas, stopped at Timmies and we were off to the airport. Arrived at 5am to a huge customs lineup, didn't take long to get through and after a quick stop for breakfast we sat by the gate waiting for our 6:45am flight. Normally we fly direct but due to high flight prices we ended up flying Continental connecting via Cleveland. This meant Gary got to go on his first small jet - one row of seats on one side and two on the other. The plane from Cleveland was much bigger. We got to Vegas and it was so busy! Nascar weekend was starting, so the airport was packed. We decided to take a shuttle to the hotel like we did last year - big mistake, we were on that shuttle FOREVER. Got to the hotel, sweet talked the front desk clerk and ended up with a really nice suite. We grabbed some lunch after dropping our luggage and did the ever so exciting Vegas tradition - taking a nap!!! After nap, we welcomed friends who had arrived in Vegas, we went to dinner in the hotel and had the first of many drinks.

Saturday March 5th, went to the Hilton buffet for breakfast - it was very good. After that we headed to the strip to shop and get my nails done.

Another Midwife Visit

I think she should just move in, she's here enough! LOL Everything is great, baby is still doing great and has dropped, I'm now measuring a week behind which means he's ready to go! Blood pressure, heart rate and urine are all perfect and I sent my GBS ( http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/1647.html ) swab off for testing. I didn't have GBS with either of the boys, but back then they didn't test for it anyways. If I test positive, just means I'll recieve antibiotics in labour, not a huge deal, but better to know ahead of time. So now we're just waiting for him to arrive - everything but MY bag is packed and ready to go! We spent the last week around here battling the sickies, and Gary's back to work tonight after being off for two weeks, which was very nice!! However he's back on his old schedule so he'll work two nights and then be off two nights, easier for him to get more rest and help out around here!! I see the Midwife again on April 8th if I m...

The Arrival Of Dylan

I'll start off by saying, I got the natural birth I had planned on all along!! I was so sure I'd go overdue and end up being induced - I guess I scared him out of me!! Towards the end, it became quite rushed ;) I'd been having regular bouts of contractions for weeks now, so Monday didn't start out any different. I began my morning with my Red Raspberry Leaf tea and then we went shopping at Walmart in the morning, getting the boys sand toys that I had been promising them for weeks and then to McD's for breakfast. We got home, had two more cups of tea and then did some cleaning. Around lunch, I realized these contractions were not only getting more regular, but were beginning to move down into my back - so I timed them and they were about 7-10 minutes apart lasting 30 seconds or so, not painful at all - very early labour.
