One Week Old

Here's Lauren at a week old. She's doing great, sleeping well, nursing well - Mommy's recovery has been fast and easy :) As of Friday she weighed 5 pounds 7 ounces, Thursday she was 5 pounds 4 ounces, so somehow she gained 3 ounces in one day, lol. We see the midwife this Thursday and we'll see what she's up to by then. The boys love their new sister, Dylan isn't sure what to think but he's been a little gentler around her this week. The weather has been beautiful today so I took Lauren for a walk to the school, she loved meeting all the boys friends and the teachers there too. She just adores attention I think, lol. Gary is back to work and I survived last night alone, we were able to keep the boys on schedule so it works out okay for me as long as they get into bed on time!! Here's the princess...

Another Midwife Visit

I think she should just move in, she's here enough! LOL Everything is great, baby is still doing great and has dropped, I'm now measuring a week behind which means he's ready to go! Blood pressure, heart rate and urine are all perfect and I sent my GBS ( http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/1647.html ) swab off for testing. I didn't have GBS with either of the boys, but back then they didn't test for it anyways. If I test positive, just means I'll recieve antibiotics in labour, not a huge deal, but better to know ahead of time. So now we're just waiting for him to arrive - everything but MY bag is packed and ready to go! We spent the last week around here battling the sickies, and Gary's back to work tonight after being off for two weeks, which was very nice!! However he's back on his old schedule so he'll work two nights and then be off two nights, easier for him to get more rest and help out around here!! I see the Midwife again on April 8th if I m...

The Arrival Of Dylan

I'll start off by saying, I got the natural birth I had planned on all along!! I was so sure I'd go overdue and end up being induced - I guess I scared him out of me!! Towards the end, it became quite rushed ;) I'd been having regular bouts of contractions for weeks now, so Monday didn't start out any different. I began my morning with my Red Raspberry Leaf tea and then we went shopping at Walmart in the morning, getting the boys sand toys that I had been promising them for weeks and then to McD's for breakfast. We got home, had two more cups of tea and then did some cleaning. Around lunch, I realized these contractions were not only getting more regular, but were beginning to move down into my back - so I timed them and they were about 7-10 minutes apart lasting 30 seconds or so, not painful at all - very early labour.
